Pricing, explained
Your county determines the price. Here's how we keep yours predictable.
New York assigns LLC publication newspapers by county. Newspaper rates vary widely, which is why publication can cost from a few hundred dollars to well over $1,000. We offer a flat-price route in eligible counties and provide a written quote before placing notices in higher-cost counties.
What the newspapers charge
These are estimates, not guarantees: published estimates from filing services and newspapers, researched November 2026. County clerks designate the papers; they do not set these ranges. Your actual designated papers and rates are confirmed in writing before anything is placed.
| County | Published estimate, both papers |
|---|---|
| Albany | $125 to $375 |
| Monroe | $100 to $375 |
| Nassau | $225 to $450 |
| Erie | $300 to $525 |
| Suffolk | No published estimate |
| Westchester | No published estimate |
| Queens | $425 to $800 |
| Richmond (Staten Island) | $525 to $900 |
| Kings (Brooklyn) | $550 to $1,100 |
| Bronx | $800 to $1,400 |
| New York (Manhattan) | $850 to $1,500 |
The figures are the two papers' charges in total for a six-week run, not our prices. Suffolk and Westchester carry no published estimate; both are counties we serve in-county at the $399 flat price, as section 03 explains. Four rows carry an extra caveat: in New York (Manhattan), Kings (Brooklyn), Queens, and the Bronx, the county clerk assigns the two papers for each LLC only after seeing that LLC's Department of State filing receipt, so no paper there can be named or priced in advance, and the designated daily quotes its rate per job.
The Albany route: one price, $399
Publication follows the county on the state record. The law allows an LLC to change that county before it publishes, by filing a Certificate of Change with the Department of State. Albany County's designated papers are among the lowest cost in the state, which is why the established publication services publish there.
If your LLC's county on record is a high-cost county, then with your authorization we:
File a Certificate of Change moving the county on your record to Albany County. Its state fee is included in the $399.
Wait until the change shows on your state record. This takes about one to two weeks, inside the same 120 days.
Publish in Albany County's clerk-designated newspapers for six weeks, collect the affidavits, and file the Certificate of Publication. The state's $50 fee and expedited handling are included.
The change is never hidden. Your order confirmation states it in plain words before we file it, and your delivery package includes the filing. This is the standard route, and it is the reason a flat $399 price is possible.
The in-county alternative
If your LLC is on Albany County already, or on a county where paper costs are moderate, we publish in your own county for the same $399 flat. Counties we currently serve at the flat price in-county: Albany, Monroe, Nassau, Erie, Suffolk, and Westchester.
If your county is a high-cost county and you want to publish there anyway, we quote the job from the two papers' live prices before anything is placed, and we show the quote next to the $399 Albany route. You pick. If the papers' quote makes the job cost more than the flat price covers, we tell you before placing anything. We never place first and explain later.
Changing the county back
After publication, the county on your record stays where it was published unless you ask us to change it back. Changing it back is a second filing, offered at delivery for $89. It does not affect your completed publication in any way, and there is no deadline on it. Some owners change it back for their own record keeping; many do not bother.
